Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, who helps us handle it, and how to have it deleted.

1.Who we are
"We" and "us" mean Toolbelt Index. Reach us at hello@toolbeltindex.com.
2.What you send us
- Business Review, setup and custom agent requests: name, business name, email, phone, website, trade, the plan you picked and what you need.
- List your tool: name, email, company, tool name, website, the plan you picked and your message.
- Corrections: name, email, the tool and the correction.
- Weekly email: your email address.
Please don't send passwords, card numbers or other people's private details in a form.
3.What we collect on our own
Spam protection. When you send a form, Vercel BotID checks that a person, not a bot, sent it. We also count form requests per connection. The counter stores a one-way hash of your IP address, not the address itself. To avoid sending you the same confirmation email twice, we store a one-way hash of your email address and the time we last sent one. We delete these records within 30 days.
Server logs. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard request logs (your IP address, which browser you use and the page you asked for) for a short time to run and protect the site.
Payments. Stripe takes your card details on its own checkout page. We never see or store your card number. Stripe tells us your name, email, what you bought and whether the payment went through.
5.How we use it
- Reply to you and deliver what you asked for or bought.
- Send the weekly email, if you signed up.
- Fix and improve tool listings.
- Keep the site and forms safe from spam and abuse.
- Keep records the law requires, such as tax records.
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it for advertising.
6.Who helps us
These companies handle data for us, only to provide their service:
- Vercel: hosting, form storage and spam protection.
- Resend: sends our emails, such as form confirmations.
- Stripe: payments.
- Google (Gmail): our inbox, where your messages and form requests arrive.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the site and our users.
7.How long we keep it
- Form requests: 24 months after our last contact with you, then deleted.
- Weekly email address: until you unsubscribe.
- Payment and tax records: as long as tax law requires.
- Spam-protection records: up to 30 days.
8.Your choices
Email hello@toolbeltindex.com to see, correct or delete what we have about you, or to leave the weekly email. Send it from the address you used so we can match it. We'll reply within 30 days.
California and other US states. Some state laws give you the right to know what we collect, to get a copy, and to have it corrected or deleted. We don't sell or share personal information as those laws define it, and we don't use it for targeted ads. We won't treat you differently for asking.
Age. Toolbelt Index is for businesses and people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
9.Keeping it safe
We keep what you send in a few trusted services and only use it for the reasons on this page. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we'll tell you as the law requires.
10.If the business changes hands
If Toolbelt Index is sold or merged, your information goes to the new owner, who has to follow this policy for it.
11.Visiting from outside the US
We run the site from the United States, and our providers store data here. If you visit from another country, your information is handled under US law.
12.Changes
When we update this policy, we change the date at the top. For a big change, we'll also put a note at the top of this page for 30 days and email paying customers.
